Can Baltimore Compete with the Bengals in the AFC North?

July 31, 2022 @ 12:40 PM

Baltimore Ravens

If the Baltimore Ravens season seemed disjointed last year, it was. The year kicked off with both JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards tearing their ACLs in training camp. This put Baltimore at a severe offensive disadvantage, and were forced to go with veterans like Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray. The Ravens also lost left tackle Ronnie Staley and cornerback Marcus Peters last year to season-ending injuries. It was no surprise that the Ravens did not make the playoffs, although the fact that they were competitive until the final couple of weeks in the season is a testament to coach John Harbaugh and the depth of the Ravens’ organization.

Everything in offense runs through quarterback Lamar Jackson. The dual-threat signal caller has .........

Can the Cowboys Finally Make a Playoff Run in 2022 / 2023?

July 22, 2022 @ 12:33 AM

dallas cowboys

Last year Cowboys fans thought it was finally time for America’s Team to make that long playoff run. Unfortunately, they ran into the playoff buzzsaw that is the San Francisco 49ers. Dallas enters 2022/2023 as the odds on favorite to win the NFC East division again, but that isn’t saying much. In what is likely one of the weakest divisions in the NFL, the Cowboys have little competition from Washington or the Giants, while the Eagles could make a run depending on the play of quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Dak Prescott is back under center in what should be a high powered offence once again. Gone is Amari Cooper, as the Cowboys hand the reins over to CeeDee Lamb. They re-signed Michael Gallup and signed deep threat James Washington .........

Is Russell Wilson the Edge Denver Needs to Lead the AFC?

July 20, 2022 @ 8:52 AM

denver broncos

Can Russell Wilson Push the Broncos to the Top of the AFC? Ever since Peyton Manning retired, the Broncos have been searching for that missing piece to push them over the top. Years of great defenses were stifled by mediocre offenses. Now that the Broncos have revamped their offense, they needed a consistent quarterback. Finally, in 2022, they have all of these elements in place after acquiring long-time Seattle Seahawk quarterback, Russell Wilson.

Wilson immediately becomes the best quarterback the team has had since Manning. He leaves a run-first, plodding offense in Seattle to a redesigned system in Denver with plenty of weapons. Touted as one of the strongest young wide receiver groups in the league led by Courtlant Sutton, Jerry .........

Can the 49ers Overcome All the Offseason Controversy

July 19, 2022 @ 7:49 AM

San Francisco 49ers stadium

The offseason for the San Francisco 49ers was shrouded in off-field drama as star wide receiver Deebo Samuel threatened to hold out for a trade. The trend follows in the footsteps of former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who forced his way to Miami in order to sign a historic contract. The 49ers haven’t budged, and Deebo has reluctantly re-joined the team for now. There have been rumors that the two sides are working towards a major deal, but the 49ers have had a recent strategy of paying up for defense and using interchangeable parts on offense.

But that wasn’t even the biggest story. The major headline heading into the season is who will be starting at quarterback. The 49ers seem like they are leaning .........

Can the Chargers Finally Win in the AFC West in 2022/2023?

July 14, 2022 @ 10:17 AM

Could this year finally be the year for the Chargers? The AFC West division is not only up for grabs by arguably all four teams, but it is easily the strongest division in football. While the Kansas City Chiefs have dominated the division in recent years, their team could certainly take a step back with a completely revamped offense. The Broncos added Russell Wilson at quarterback, and the Las Vegas Raiders added all-pro wide receiver Davante Adams to the mix.

So how do the Chargers stack up? Some would say Los Angeles has the best roster from top to bottom in the NFL. The offense is led by quarterback Justin Herbert who is coming off of a season where he threw for 5,014 yards and 38 touchdowns. Many believe he has one of the .........

Can the Los Angeles Rams Repeat in 2022/2023?

July 13, 2022 @ 10:11 AM

los angeles rams

The Rams enter the year in a great spot to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. Why? The core of their team is intact, especially with the key re-signing of defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Los Angeles lost Von Miller to free agency, but managed to sign linebacker Bobby Wagner away from the Seattle Seahawks. In all, it’s a Rams defensive unit that won the Super Bowl last year, and has an excellent chance of making another deep playoff run in 2022/2023.

The offense is where the Rams might improve even more than the defense. Gone are veteran wide receivers Robert Woods and Odell Beckham Jr., the latter of which is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl game. Replacing him for now is veteran Allen Robinson who will be an .........

Can Green Bay Fill the Void Left by Davante Adams?

Davante Adams

Davante Adams back when he was a Packer giving young fan a ride.

It’s been a weird offseason for the Green Bay Packers, but that’s pretty par for the course in recent years. The Packers managed to re-sign disgruntled quarterback Aaron Rodgers but in one fell swoop lost one of the best wide receivers in the league in Davante Adams. The absence leaves a gaping hole in the Packers offense although Rodgers has managed to perform well even without his star receiver in the lineup.

The Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers again last year in the playoffs, after another strong regular season campaign. Special teams cost the Packers in the playoffs, and will likely need to be a focus along with their defense. With a weaker .........

Can the Chiefs Return to Glory in 2022/2023?

July 6, 2022 @ 2:35 PM

KC Chiefs

Two years ago it seemed like the Kansas City Chiefs would be dominating the AFC playoff scene for the next decade. They have the flashy young quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and the speedy skill of Tyreek Hill and the surest hands on a tight end in this league in Travis Kelce. Fast forward to last year when an upstart young Cincinnati Bengal team led by LSU legend Joe Burrow eliminated the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.

What followed was an interesting offseason for the Chiefs. Contract negotiations broke down between Kansas City and Hill, and the wide receiver was shipped off to Miami for draft picks. Taking his place are free agent veterans Marquise Valdez-Scantling and Juju Smith-Schuster, as well as incumbent Mecole Hardman and .........

Can Brady Make One More Run in 2022, 2023

July 5, 2022 @ 12:15 AM

tom brady nfl

The Buccaneers had every piece back from their Super Bowl victory in 2021, but they were taken down in the Divisional Round by the eventual Super Bowl Champions from Los Angeles. What followed was an offseason of turmoil for Tampa Bay. An unexpected retirement announcement from Tom Brady flipped the NFL upside down, although he later rescinded this retirement and announced his return for one more season. Recently, Brady’s running mate Rob Gronkowski announced his own retirement, although many in NFL circles believe he will return at some point in the season.

On top of that Head Coach Bruce Arians has stepped down and Todd Bowles will be taking over, with rumors that this was Brady’s request all along. Backroom politics .........
