These two Big Ten rivals meet in Lincoln, Nebraska for the first time since 2019. Both the Huskers and the Terrapins enter Friday’s game off losses and in the case of Maryland, it is a five game losing streak. Equally as bad, Nebraska is a dismal 1-9 in their last ten games, while Maryland is 3-7. Let’s just say neither of these programs will be duking it out for the Big Ten Championship this year. In terms of offensive pace these two teams couldn’t be further apart. The Huskers like to run and gun, playing with the 24th fastest pace in the nation, while the Terrapins are ranked 235th. Neither of these teams shoot the ball particularly well, especially from three-point range.

Maryland has a significant edge in rebounding efficiency as well as free throw percentage which are always two stats that tend to lead to victories and betting edges when it comes to college basketball. With both teams having poor offensive efficiency, it always leads me to look at an under. But when both teams have equally bad defensive ratings, it points me towards a potential over. In this case, in the game I would actually lean towards Maryland, due to their advantages in those key categories. But with both teams exhibiting true shooting percentages near the bottom of the nation’s rankings, I have no choice but to bet on the Under in this game.
