LA Bowl: Saturday December 18th at 7:30 pm ET
If you thought the BYU and UAB matchup was weird, check out the name of this bowl game: the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl. The Utah State Aggies had a magical year this season going 10-3 and winning the Mountain West Championship. The Aggies had a relentless offense this year ranking 28th in the nation in total yards per game, 24th in passing yards, and 31st in points. Not to be outdone, the Beavers ranked 21st in rushing yards per game and 12th in third down efficiency. And here’s the kicker: both teams have pretty lousy defenses. I think you know where I’m going with this one. The spread opened at 7.5 for Oregon State but has been bet down to 7.0 now, which is probably a fair number between these two teams. This could be another case of strength of opponent with the Power 5 team having a worse record than the Group of 5 team, but more difficult matchups. In a game between two high octane offenses on the indoor track at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles where weather will not be an issue, give me the over 67.5.
