SEC Championship: Georgia Vs. Alabama +7

Alabama Crimson Tide football

Alabama as a near touchdown underdog in the SEC Championship game? The last time Alabama was an underdog in a college football game was in 2015, to Georgia. The result of that game? Alabama won 38-10. Alabama just hasn’t been dominant this season, and that has moved people off of them in a big way in the betting community. Most online sportsbooks continue to hang the Crimson Tide as a double digit favorite, but Alabama has had trouble putting teams away all season long. Georgia has had the best defense in the NCAA by a mile, ranking 4th in total yards allowed per game, 7th in passing yards and 7th in rushing yards. But who was Georgia’s toughest test? Clemson is far from the team they have been in recent years, Arkansas and Auburn are fine, Florida was a shell of its former self this season, and while Tennessee has an explosive offense it is nothing compared to a Crimson Tide team that ranks 9th in total yards, 5th in point scored, and 5th in third down efficiency. The one flaw for Alabama? It can’t really run the ball, which allows Georgia to drop more defenders into coverage. You just can’t help but be nervous for Georgia, even after their phenomenal season. I’m taking Alabama with the 7.0 points, and sprinkling some on the moneyline as well.
