We head to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for this first round matchup between the Buckeyes and one of the recent cult favorites, the Loyola Ramblers. It’s not every day you see a Big Ten team as a PK against a Missouri Valley Conference school, but here we are. This is March, and this is Loyola. We’re only four years removed from the Ramblers making the Final Four, and with Sister Jean back in their corner, things could get interesting for a first round upset. The key for Ohio State is always in its offense. It has the talent to dominate any game but it has also been susceptible to being ice-cold from downtown which has cost them some games. Ohio State is the classic team with the talent that just can’t put it together.

If it’s March and you’re still looking for chemistry to get a win, it might just be too late. Both teams are efficient from the field as the Ramblers are 16th and the Buckeyes are 32nd in the nation in FG%, while they also rank 8th and 26th respectively in 3PT FG%. Neither team is exceptional at rebounding and it has been a sore spot for the Buckeyes all year, especially against Big Ten teams with size. Perhaps the biggest discrepancy is on defense where Loyola ranks 20th in the nation and Ohio State is an abysmal 264th. PK is a generous spread as I believe Loyola should be favored. Give me the Ramblers to win the game outright and send the Buckeyes packing.
