Here’s a detailed preview of the NFL game between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys — slated for Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Ford Field in Detroit.

Recent Form & What Happened Last Game

  • Detroit enters the game at 7–5 on the season. In their most recent contest — their Thanksgiving game — they lost at home to the Green Bay Packers. MyBookie: Dallas Cowboys +3  O 54.5.

  • Dallas comes in at 5–5–1 overall. They are riding a three-game win streak, having picked up momentum over the last several weeks.

  • On paper, this game is shaping up as a decent battle — Detroit is somewhat favored, but Dallas isn’t being taken lightly.

So you have a Detroit team that’s stumbled recently (especially losing their last game), and a Cowboys squad surging with confidence.

Key Players to Watch: Offense, Quarterbacks & More

Detroit Lions

  • Quarterback: Jared Goff — leading Detroit’s offense, Goff will need to be sharp, especially given the offensive-line concerns (see injuries below).

  • Wide receivers: Normally, Amon-Ra St. Brown is the big play-maker — but he suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of the Packers game and did not return. He’s now questionable leading up to this Cowboys matchup.

  • Other WR/TE options may have to step up, given WR-depth and tight-end issues; Detroit’s pass game could be strained depending on St. Brown’s status and the availability of other pass-catchers.

Dallas Cowboys

  • Quarterback: Dak Prescott is — as always — the key figure for Dallas’s offense. His play will likely shape Dallas’s chance to stay hot and challenge Detroit.

  • On the offensive line, Dallas might be a bit thin: their starting left tackle Tyler Guyton remains questionable, dealing with an ankle injury, which could affect protection for Prescott.

⚠️ Injuries & Team Concerns

Detroit’s injury report is more concerning heading into this game than Dallas’s:

  • WR Amon-Ra St. Brown — ankle (questionable). If he misses or is limited, Detroit will lose its top receiving weapon.

  • Several others for Detroit are listed with injury flags: multiple offensive linemen and tight ends reportedly dealing with issues. Dallas Cowboys +3  Detroit Lions +3

  • On the Dallas side: left tackle Tyler Guyton is questionable — could impact pass protection and run blocking if he can’t go.

Given these variables, the status of Detroit’s pass-catching corps and offensive line could swing the game significantly.

Betting Odds & What the Line Says

  • According to recent betting lines: Detroit is favored by about 3.5 points.

  • Moneyline odds (depending on sportsbook) show Detroit as the favorite, with Dallas as the underdog.

  • Total points over/under is set around 53.5 points.

All signs point to a competitive game — the spread isn’t huge, reflecting some uncertainty, likely because of injuries on Detroit’s side and the potential for Dallas to upset.

 Prediction & Outcome

My prediction: Detroit wins, but perhaps not by much.

  • Projected Score: Detroit Lions 31, Dallas Cowboys 24

Why: Detroit still has a slightly better overall record, home-field advantage, and (when healthy) a potent offense led by Jared Goff. Even with injuries, their offensive foundation can still carry enough firepower.

However, if Dallas’s offensive line holds up and Prescott gets time — and if Detroit’s WR corps is limited — the Cowboys have a real shot, especially given momentum from their recent winning streak.

I see Detroit covering the spread, but it won’t be a blowout: expect a reasonably tight, possibly high-scoring affair unless the weather or late-game defensive stands intervene.
