Monday night the undefeated San Francisco 49ers host the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are 2-2 but have won both games on the road, and have looked better the past couple of weeks. This is the first time they are 2-0 on the road since 1994. Considering they didn't win any games just two years ago, that's a pretty big deal. San Francisco is only a 4 point favorite, so that doesn't show me that Vegas has a lot of confidence in them to win Monday night, especially considering they are undefeated and at home, although according to ESPN, they have over a 70% chance of winning the game. The Browns are +180 with the money line and SF is -210. Cleveland is coming off a big win at Baltimore last week 40-25, and I look for them to keep the momentum going Monday night. SF's cornerback Witherspoon suffered a foot injury in last week's win, and will be out at least a month, so that is a pretty big blow for them.
And I think Baker Mayfield and the rest of the Browns' offense are starting to figure things out. Jimmy G- SF's QB, didn't look great in the pre-season, but has looked better in the regular season, and seems to be trending in the right direction. I think the 49er's want to win to show that their 3-0 start is not a fluke, and Cleveland wants to win to show that their pre-season hype was well-deserved, and also they need to string together a winning streak. In the end, I like Cleveland straight up and the over of 47 points.
