A quarter of the NFL Football regular season will be over Monday night after the conclusion of the Steelers- Bengals game. Both teams are 0-3 so I'm pretty sure this game won't be breaking any television ratings records. Pittsburgh is a 3.5 point home favorite and the over/under is 45 points. The Steelers have a 65% chance of winning based on the Match-up Predictor. They are also -190 with the money line while Cincinnati is +170. Well, one team has to get their first win of the season Monday night unless of course, they tie, which is unlikely. I would wager that it's Pittsburgh who gets the win. Not too long ago this was a pretty intense rivalry, but a lot of players from both those teams' past are retired or on different teams- some of the current players still around are injured.
So I don't think this will be a defensive battle, and for that reason I do like the over of 45 points in the game. Pittsburgh has won the past 8 games against the Cincinnati Bengals, and they have won 11 of the past 12. The Bengals are also just 6-15 in prime-time games going back to their QB's rookie year of 2011, including only 2-5 on Monday night games. Yes Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is done for the season, and their TE McDonald has an arm injury, but I think their backup QB Rudolph can step in and get a home win this Monday. They still have Conner and Smith as an elite RB and WR tandem. And despite that opening week blowout loss to New England, they lost their next two games by just 2 and 4 points, so I like Pittsburgh and the over. With the point spread, this will be a close game so I am not too confident they cover, but do like them to win outright.
