No ranked teams are playing each other in college football this Saturday. We would have seen one game with 2 ranked teams, if Stanford didn't lose last week to USC, because they are taking on UCF which is ranked 17th. Stanford's loss knocked them out of the top 25. UCF is a 7.5 home favorite in Saturday's game. Since USC did beat Stanford, they moved to 2-0, and took over the #24 spot in the top 25. They should improve to 3-0 as they face BYU in Utah. USC is a 4 point road favorite, and the over/under is 55 points. The Trojans have a 65% chance of winning based on the ESPN Match-up Predictor. The BYU Cougars are +160 with the money line and the Trojans are -140. USC has looked surprisingly good this season, considering their top QB has been out. They are scoring 38 points per game and giving up 21.5. BYU, on the other hand, is only averaging about 20 ppg.

I think the Trojans can get the win at BYU, and get a home win the following week against Utah, but they then have a tough schedule having to play up in Washington against the 23rd ranked Huskies, and then follow that by going to Notre Dame to take on the 7th ranked Irish in weeks 4 and 5. They just fired- or I should say- their athletic director just resigned, so they are looking to fill that void, but I wouldn't be surprised if their head coach- Clay Helton- doesn't stick around in the long-term, though new president Carol Felt did call to offer her support of him and the team. This 2-0 start has certainly helped his cause. But for this game anyway, it's always tough to go to another campus and get a win in college football, but I think for the Trojans, that win against Stanford in convincing fashion has given them enough momentum going into this weekend where they can pull of the road win and move to 3-0.
