The College Football season kicks off this Saturday when the #8 Florida Gators host their in-state rival Miami Hurricanes. Florida is a 7.5 point home favorite, and the over/under is 47 points. The majority of the games begin the following week, starting Thursday the 29th, and lasting all the way through Labor Day- Monday, September 2, when Louisville will host #9 Notre Dame. One of the games that I am looking forward to watching the most, though it won't be much of a contest, is #4 Oklahoma taking on Houston. The Sooners are 25 point favorites, and the over/under is 79.5 points. I am curious to see how senior QB transfer Jalen Hurts will do in his first game away from Alabama. Hurts was just named Oklahoma's official starter for the game September 1. Could he become the third Oklahoma QB in a row to win the Heisman Trophy? It is not highly likely, but he definitely is in the top 7 candidates. He has the stage, and where he lacks as a passer he can make up with with his run game.

He played three seasons with Alabama, racking up an impressive 26-2 record. He struggled in the championship game 2 seasons ago, and was replaced at halftime with then Freshman Tua Tagovailoa, who went on to lead a come-from-behind victory in route to the National Championship. Although the duo split time the following season-last season- it was Tua getting a majority of the playing time. Tua was the front-runner to win the Heisman for this upcoming season, but he was outplayed in last year's Championship game by Clemson's freshman QB Trevor Lawrence in a 44-16 blowout. So now it is Lawrence who is the obvious Heisman front-runner for this season. Clemson, by the way, will open their season Thursday, August 29th against Georgia Tech as a 35.5 point home favorite.
