The defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs will open their 2019-20 season against the Cincinnati Bengals in their first pre-season game. KC is a 3.5 point home favorite, and the over/under is 36 points. If this were a regular season game, the over would easily come in; the Chiefs possibly covering that total just by themselves. But in the pre-season, especially the first game, teams are trying all kinds of different players and plays and schemes, so you never really know what you are going to get. KC is -185 with the money line and the Bengals are +165. That game will be followed by the Los Angeles Rams playing in Oakland against the Raiders, and the Cowboys at the 49ers to wrap up week 1. Speaking of Dallas, it looks like the Cowboys' star RB Ezekiel Elliott won''t be playing this season without a new contract. Zeke made this "threat" back in January, and is something we are seeing a lot more of lately.

He is under contract until next season. This year he is set to make about 3.8 million dollars, and next year over 9 million. Le'Veon Bell held out all of last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was eventually signed by the New York Jets this year and is scheduled to make 13.5 million on average. Rams' star RB Todd Gurley is making almost 14.5 million on average, so Zeke is probably looking for a deal at least in double digit millions on average, probably something closer to 15. It will be interesting to see what happens to Zeke, and how well Bell plays this year in NY, how Gurley's legs will hold up for a whole season, and how new Browns' RB Kareem Hunt will do in Cleveland, after he serves his 8 game suspension for his domestic violence case.
