Big Series for Cubs, Dodgers

It will be two southpaws taking the mound it out tonight as the Chicago Cubs are in L.A. tonight to clash with the Dodgers. Chicago is going with J. Lester, 5-4 with an ERA of 3.56, while C. Kershaw 5-1 and an ERA of 3.00 will be striding to the mound for Los Angeles at 10:10 PM Eastern in the first in four of what should prove to be a provoking and critical series. L.A. who lost two straight are perched atop the NL West with a 45-29 record; 9½ games ahead of second place Colorado who the Cubs blasted yesterday 10-1. The Cubs are in second in the NE Central just ½ game behind first place Brewers and 4½ ahead of third place St. Louis. The final game of the series in Sunday, Father’s Day with the probable starters again being two Southpaws. The Cubs with have Jose Quintana who is 4-6 with a 3.89 ERA and the Dodgers are going with Hyun-Jin Ryu with a phenomenal ERA of 1.36 and a 9-1 won / lost record.
