June 8, 2019
This year’s Triple Crown season will come to an end on June 8 with the 2019 Belmont Stakes. The last Triple Crown race will be a tough contest between the winner of Wood Memorial Tacitus and the winner of Preakness Stakes War of Will. The three-year-old War of Will won the Preakness Stakes after facing a difficult Kentucky Derby where he finished seventh. If the War of Will wins the Belmont Stakes, he will become victor of two Triple Crown races and the leading contender for the award. Tacitus won third place in the Kentucky Derby but has not raced since then. At 11-8, Tacitus is one of the top favorites in the 2019 Belmont Stakes. War of Will (7-2) is the next big favorite for the race. Owendale is the third favorite at 6-1.
The Belmont Stakes is a prestigious thoroughbred horse race that is held at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York in June.
