Bengals Take On Ravens Thursday Night 9/12/2018
NFL week 1 is in the books, and week 2 will be here before you know it. Thursday night, the Cincinnati Bengals host the Baltimore Ravens in a battle of the two 1-0 teams in the AFC North. The early consensus is that the game is pretty even, with the Bengals a slight one-point favorite. The over/under is 44 points. Both teams are -110 with the money line. Baltimore is coming off a huge blowout win, 47-3, against Buffalo, having arguably the best performance of week 1. The Bengals, meanwhile, had an impressive victory themselves on the road against the Colts, 34-23.
The ESPN match-up predictor has the Ravens winning chances at 55.9%, and I think that is about right. While this definitely won't be another blowout, the Ravens should be the team to come out of week 2 as the only undefeated team in the AFC North. One thing not on Baltimore's side is recent history. In the past 11 meetings, the Bengals have won 8 games, so the fact that the Bengals are at home and only giving up a point is enticing, especially with these short-rest Thursday night games.
It is also worth noting that in the last 5 meetings between these two teams, the over has only happened once, but I think we could see another coming up this Thursday, especially if Flacco has a repeat performance as last week when he tossed 3 TD's and no interceptions. I'll take the Ravens plus a point with the over in this one.
