Washington Capitals vs. Vegas Golden Knights
Game 3 Preview; Saturday June 2, 2018
Although the Washington Capitals lost the first game and were on the road, that didn’t stop them from taking down the Vegas Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Arena. Braden Holtby, stole the spotlight, by making 37 saves. His greatest moment in the match was against Alex Tuch, where he made a mind-blowing stick save, who was poised to level the game for the Golden Knights.
However, the Capitals precious win came at a cost as they lost one of their key players, Evgeny Kuznetsov, who suffered an injury to his upper body. Thankfully, his replacement, Lars Eller, gave the Capitals hope, as he scored one goal and set up the perfect opportunities for Alex Ovechkin and Brooks Orpik to score their goals respectively.
James Neal and Shea Theodore kept the match within arm’s reach for the Golden Knights, but the rest of the team was unable to make the most of their chances. With Golden Knights playing the Game 3 away from home, they will have to forget about their loss and focus on doing what they do best. With Game 3 taking place in the Capital One Arena, the Capitals have to make sure that they don’t get overzealous. The Capitals know that they cannot underestimate the Golden Knights, even though it is an away game for the latter.
As temperatures are going to rise during Game 3, who will be in the driver’s seat at the end of the buzzer? Will the Washington Capitals be able to dampen the spirits of the Golden Knights even further or are we in for another spectacular surprise?
