Luis Saez moved to the United States in 2009 where his career as an American jockey took off to a good start. Saez hails from Panama City. On March 14, 2009, Saez secured his first ever win at Panama. The Calder racecourse in Miami is what Saez calls his home base ever since he moved to America.
In 2013, Saez participated in Belmont Stakes. Luis Saez rode a thoroughbred from the pedigree of Malibu Moon to victory at the Peter Pan Stakes. Once again, during the later months of 2013, Saez exhibited a remarkable performance which led him to win at the Grade 1 Travers Stakes, $1 million Pennsylvania Derby and Grade 1 Clark Handicap. He also managed to become a runner-up at the Breeder's Cup Classic. In January 2015, Saez was named Jockey of the Week by the Jockeys' Guild. Saez also won the title for the 2016-2017 Championship Meet with a phenomenal 102 wins.
Luis Saez also participated in the Kentucky Derby in 2016 where he secured the 7th position with Brody's Cause, the horse he rode. So far, in his career, Luis Saez has made $85,179,938. In 2018 alone, within the past few months, this brilliant, young jockey has made $6,528, 435
