True to their name, the Philadelphia Eagles took off and beat the Patriots 41-33, going home with their first-ever Super Bowl title. Let’s take a look at both teams to see how they fared in this year’s most anticipated game of football.
The Philadelphia Eagles may have been the underdogs, but that didn’t stop them finding vulnerabilities in the Patriots defense. When the Eagles offense attacked, it was almost impossible for the Patriots to stop them from scoring.
Nick Foles, the backup quarterback for the injured Carson Wentz, showed everyone why he deserved the MVP title, after putting in a phenomenal performance this Super Bowl. Along with Jay Ajayi and Zach Ertz, the Eagles flew through the defense of the Patriots.
New England Patriots
Despite the Eagles leading throughout the game, it never looked like they were going to win the Super Bowl LII until the last minute of the game. The Patriots gave it their all till the final whistle but were unable to make a comeback.
Veteran Tom Brady went all out for this year’s Super Bowl game with a new record for passing yards, covering 505 yards. Chris Hogan and Rob Gronkowski scored important touchdowns, keeping the Patriots close to the Eagles throughout the game.
