Chicago Black Hawks Vs Anaheim Ducks
While the Ducks are still capable of making the NHL Playoffs they may be in some rough water. The Blackhawks are looking to put another victory in their win column tonight and doing so will give Chicago a season high of 8 straight and 12 in their last 13 games. Chicago is 42 and 18 with 89 points, only 1 point behind Minnesota and first place in the Western Conference Central Division.
The Hawks will play at *full strength now that Hjalmarsson is back in the lineup after being out for 4 games with an injury and for the first time in two years, he will be back on defense with an old teammate, Johnny Oduya who the Blackhawks got from Dallas on February 28.
While the Hawks are all healthy, Anaheim is not. Starting goaltender Josh Gibson is still day-to-day with a lower body injury. While we don’t know the extent of the injury we do know the extent it’s had on the Ducks. Jonathan Bernier is not doing bad, but Anaheim was hoping for a better than 2-3 record the substitute number 1 goalie has. The Ducks are also minus the veteran center Antoine Vermette who sitting out his ninth game of a 10 game suspension for slashing a linesman Valentine's day, Feb.14.
*While Chicago's Corey Crawford, Scott Darling backup in net is still out with an injury Darling is an impressive 8 in his last nine games.
