The New York Giants will travel to sunny Miami on Monday to take on the Dolphins. Both teams enter the game at 5-7. Currently in the NFC East, three teams all have a 5-7 record: Washington, New York and Philadelphia. And Dallas is just a game behind them. The 5-7 record for the Dolphins, however, puts them in last place in the AFC East, and they probably won’t make the playoffs this year.
The ESPN Football Power Index has New York winning this game with a 61.7% chance, but Vegas has this as an Even game at this point. The over/ under is 47 points. Against the spread this year, NY is 6-5-1, and 3-2-1 as the away team. Miami is just 4-8 against the spread, and 1-4 as the home team against the spread. NY has won just once in the last 5 games when they beat Tampa Bay earlier this month.
Miami is coming off a 15-13 win against Baltimore last week. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. PST Monday, and Miami will be wearing their old logos on their helmets for this one. Miami is ranked 27th in total defense, so I think Eli Manning and company will put up some points for NY, and this game will go over. NY hasn’t closed out many games this year, but they should win a few more this year. This is a tough one to call, but I think NY pulls it out and the over comes in.
