The Michigan State Spartans are coming off a big win against their rival Michigan Wolverines last week. They are currently ranked 7th in the BCS and now get to come home after two road games, as they host the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday. The Hoosiers are 4-3, but all 3 losses have been ig Ten conference games for them, as this game will be.
The Spartans are a big favorite in this game at a current 16.5 point favorite. They are -800 with the money line; the Hoosiers are +600. The over/under is 63.5 points. Against the spread, the Spartans haven’t fared so well this year. They are just 1-6 overall, 0-6 as the favorite, and 0-4 as the home team, and I don’t think they will pull off their first home win covering the spread this week. They should roll past the Hoosiers, especially at home. The only thing that does concern me is usually teams have somewhat of a letdown after emotionally draining games.
That game against Michigan last week was a huge game, and it came down to the last play, so there may be somewhat of a letdown factor on Saturday, but they still should win the game easily, but I don’t see them covering the 16.5 points, nor do I see the final score going over 63.5 points. They have one game in common this year, and it was against Rutgers. Two weeks ago, MSU beat Rutgers on the road 31-24, and last week, Indiana lost to Rutgers at home 55-52. Kickoff is at 12:30 PT Saturday, and airs on ABC and ESPN2.
