Question: What's the closest you'll get to watching a proper, action-packed game before the NFL season opens on September 11? Answer: The game Sunday afternoon when the Saints host the Houston Texans at home turf in New Orleans.
Both teams have a lot riding upon the exhibition game. For Houston Texans, the game marks their first this preseason, away from their home stadium at One Reliant Park. Having given up only 24 points over the last two games, the Texans have had a successful preseason run thus far and the boys must be itching to prove they're just as good off the familiar NRG Stadium, as they are in it.
New Orleans Saints on the other hand, have yet to make an appearance on the win column this preseason. They gave up 51 points in the first two games and are on the verge of closing the preseason with 0-3. So the Bayou Boys must be itching just as hard to win the Sunday afternoon game.
Given they play host to the Texans at their home stadium, the Saints must be ready to go all out. Now that is the kind of aching that makes football thrilling, isn't it? And you can catch the entire thrill live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome 3pm onward, on FOX Sports. Unless of course, you are ready with your tickets to watch the Texans take on The Dome Patrol from the Superdome itself.
Regardless of where you watch the game from, your eyes will be set on Brian Hoyer, who was recently declared the starting quarterback for the Texans, and Pierre Thomas on the other side of the line. While the Saints have yet to declare their starting quarterback, Pierre, Kenny Philips, Vinnie Sunseri and not to mention, Jamarca Sanford are this season's favorite picks.
To top off the trills Sundays game promises, local New Orleans band Top Cats will be present at the Superdome for entertainment. Top Cats began playing in 1983 and are local fan favorites. I'm sure these guys will get the crowd pumped up when they start to swinging at Champions Square today. Where are you going to be? In front of the screen at your home or favorite bar and club? Or with the battling teams at the Superdome?
