In this Monday Night Football match-up, the San Francisco 49ers host the New York Giants. San Francisco is coming off a monster win last Thursday night, and they are a 3.5 point home favorite, not getting much love for that 34-3 win against Oakland. Both teams should be well rested as the Giants are coming off a bye and the 49ers last played November 1st.
New York Giants are showing no players on the injury report, while SF lists LB Foster, WR Garcon, and S Tartt all out. The over/under is 44.5 points, and I think the over will come in based on the teams' recent play as well as the injury report and the extra time off. SF has a 56.1 % chance winning based on the ESPN Match Up Predictor. Both teams are not faring well against the spread either. SF is 3-6 while NY is 3-5. I think I would definitely take the 49ers in this one giving 3.5 points.
San Francisco 49ers star QB Jimmy Garoppolo is done for the year, and Mullens will get the start this week as he has the hot hand, throwing for 3 TDs last week against the Raiders. I actually had the Raiders D in that one for my Fantasy Team when I heard that Beathard would be out, but that decision came back to bite me as Oakland's D had a -3 points on the evening inthe Fantasy World. But sometimes you got to take a risk.
I look for Mullens to stay hot, especially against another weak opponent and at home. I see them easily covering the 3.5 point spread, and who knows, maybe he challenges Garoppolo next year for teh starting QB gig.
