There are only a couple college football games this weekend that feature two ranked teams. Top ranked Alabama will host #22 Texas A&M where they are a 26-point favorite. And #20 Oregon will host #7 Stanford in a key Pac-12 North match-up.
This will be the second time in three weeks that the Cardinal will face a ranked team. Two Saturday’s ago, they knocked off then #17 USC 17-3. Stanford is a slight 2-point road favorite, and the over/under is 56 points. Stanford has a 56% chance of winning according to the ESPN match-up predictor. Oregon is 3-0 against the spread this year. They are currently +115 with the money line. Oregon is scoring over 50 points per game, but their competition has been pretty week facing teams like Bowling Green and San Jose State.
Saturday night will be the first real test this season for the Ducks. There should be plenty of NFL scouts in the stands for this one as Oregon’s QB Herbert is an easy first-round draft pick. He already has 12 TD’s on the season. Stanford RB Bryce Love, last year’s Heisman runner-up, is also projected to go in the first-round. He sat out last week with an injury, but should be ready to challenge Oregon’s strong run defense.
This is a game you don’t want to miss watching, even if you lay off the action. I think Oregon will play a strong home game, proving that they can beat higher end teams. Kickoff is 5:00 PT.
