World Cup Soccer Preview, July 6, 2017

Uruguay Vs. France.

Uruguay and France, two heavyweights in this World Cup, will be locking horns at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, to decide who will be advancing to the semifinals, on Friday, 6th June..

Uruguay played well, both offensively and defensively, against Portugal, beating them 2 – 1. La Celeste maintained clean sheets for an impressive six games, before conceding their first goal in this tournament to Portugal. Luis Suárez will be under immense pressure to lead the attack, as his teammate, Edison Cavani, may not be fit enough to play the match. With José Giménez and Diego Godín on the lineup, finding weaknesses in Uruguay’s defense is going to be an extremely difficult task for France.

The French squad ended Argentina’s hopes of qualifying into the next round by beating them in a thrilling match, 4 – 3. They now have to play against the tightly knit Uruguay. Didier Deschamps will have to do without Blaise Matuidi, along with Djibril Sidibe and Benjamin Mendy. Uruguay full-backs will have to keep an eye on Kylian Mbappé, whose thunderous acceleration can catch their defense off-guard in an instant. Also, La Celeste’s midfield will have to get past N'Golo Kanté, who is one of France’s best players at the moment. With the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, and Paul Pogba lurking around, Uruguay’s defense will be under immense pressure..

Although Uruguay will dig deep to frustrate France, Les Bleus have the right skills and tactics to seal their spot in the semifinals!
