World Series Game 5 Astros beat Dodgers 13-12

MLB beats NFL and CBS News in TV ratings

Did you know that Game 5 between the Astros and LA pounded the NFL and CBS News in the T.V. ratings Sunday Night? Game 5 had a 12.8 share, while NFL football that night had a 9.4 and CBS News had a low of 1.5. I wonder if some of us are getting tired of the way the NFL and people in the news handle themselves; just saying.

It was 2005 when the 101st World Series took place. It was the first and last time that the Houston Astros were involved in a World Series. The offshore sportsbooks were playing up the fact that it was Houston’s first time being in one. Whenever it’s a team’s first time being in one sportsbooks, land based and online love to Capitalize on that.

This particular Series didn’t provide the excitement the sportsbooks were promising us as Houston fell to the Chicago White Sox 4 games to 0, however in this Series Game 5 gave us all the excitement 2005 promised us and a whole lot more. In a close game the Astros beat the Dodgers 13-12. The Astros are only the 5th team in a World Series to come back from 3 deficits, I love when the score keeps going back and forth.

Games 5 gave us 25 runs, 7 home runs, the second longest World Series game played, 5 hours, 17 minutes. Ironically the longest WS game played was also played in Minute Maid Park back in 2005 when the White Sox played the Astros in a game that went 5 hours, 45 minutes.
