Man the Giants just did not look good when they took a whipping last Sunday loosing to the Cowboys in Dallas 19-3. Of course in defense of the Giants, New York had no offence without Odell Beckham Jr. who is still out with the injury he suffered while playing against the Cleveland Browns in a pre-season game. In the second period OBJ took a pass from Eli Manning just before Briean Calhoun gave him a blow with his shoulder pads to the left knee. The hit seemed to many as a dirty hit, but it was ruled legal and on his own Beckham limped off the field and was placed on the injured list. Although it’s still iffy, there seems to be a good chance Beckham will play in tonight’s game against Detroit.
Lions on the other hand gave Detroit fans their money’s worth and sent them home smiling when after trailing 17-9 to Arizona in the third quarter they went home with a 35-23 victory. Matthew Stafford looked bad in the first half of that game but the star QB came back in the second, looked great, and played like he might be worth the five year, $135 million dollar contract he signed last week.
As for the Detroit Lions and New York Giants, playing at home is more of a disadvantage than an advantage. In their last 10 games facing each other the away team has won 7, with the home team only having 3 victories. I’d have to say the one thing that is a sure bet is the Detroit Lions praying that trend continues.
