NBA Basketball: Golden State Warriors Vs Boston Celtics
Oakland will be the host city when two of the top NBA teams meet Wednesday as the Boston Celtics 40-23 take on the Golden State Warriors 51-11 at 10:30 pm Eastern time.
The Golden State Warriors are sitting atop the Western League Conference, NBA’s only team to have a 50+ record and are -130 favorites to bring home the NBA Title. Golden State had an impressive victory 104-88 over the Celtics in Boston last November. In their last seven matches, the Warriors were victorious in six games and in the last ten meetings Golden State took seven losing only three to Boston's.
Kevin Durant's Injury
Last week, however, on February 28 playing against the Washington Wizards, star forward for Golden State, Kevin Durant bruised his left knee via Zaza Pachulia who fell on Durant's knee via Marcin Gortat who pushed Pachulia while going for a rebound. There are some reports Durant will be back by playoff time, but for know, he’s out and Golden State feels the loss. Going 1-2 since the injury the Warriors are looking to take advantage of Bostons 13-16 record against teams with a higher number than theirs in the win column.
Having already clinched a spot in the playoffs may take some of the pressure off Golden State in Wednesday’s game, but playing without their top forward you can bet Boston is going to turn up the heat and do their best to take advantage of Kevin being sidelined. Who knows with St. Patricks Day on the calendar next week maybe the Celtics of Boston have a leprechaun up their net.
