Packers hope to upset the Dallas Cowboys and play in Super Bowl 51
One of the divisional playoffs this weekend (01-14-2017) sees the Packers travel to face the Cowboys in Texas. The game decides who makes it to the NFC Championship Game and consequently, Super Bowl 51. Both teams are in superb form and many are alleging that one of these two will win the Super Bowl for the NFC.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers are undoubtedly one of the hottest teams in the NFL this season. They are on a 7-game winning streak and beat out an experienced New York Giants 38-13 in their previous game. QB Aaron Rodgers seems to have gotten his form back in posts season, throwing for 18 touchdowns and no interceptions in his last 8 games. They ended the regular season 10-6 and have gone on to beat anyone standing in their way in the postseason. Defensively, the Packers aren’t the best but they have forced 17 interceptions in the regular season but have conceded 32 passing touchdowns and 4,308 yards.
The Cowboys ended the regular season with a 13-3 record and sitting on top of the NFC. Rookie quarterback, Dak Prescott and receiver, Ezekiel Elliot have been exceptional this season. When the Cowboys faced the Packers in October, both of these players combined exceptionally to give the Cowboys a comfortable 30-16 win. While Elliot is likely to be heavily marked by the Packers’ defense, wide receiver Dez Bryant gets a chance to shine. Prescott and Bryant have been combining well recently and scored two touchdowns in Week 16. Defensively, the Cowboys might have trouble stopping Aaron Rodgers but the Cowboys have the best rushing defense in the NFL.
The Cowboys are clear favorites to win this game and the NFC Championship, but if the Packers win against Dallas, then it's Green Bay who will be playing the winner of Saturdays game between New England Patriots and Houston Texans for the title of Super Bowl 51 Champions, 2017.
