NCAA Preview: Navy Midshipmen vs South Florida Bulls

The most talked about game this season is bound to be the Alabama Crimson Tide vs the Texas A&M Aggies but there are other important games being played as well. As we venture into Week 8 of the NCAA, let’s take a look at the game between the Navy Midshipmen and the South Florida Bulls. Top sportsbooks are still undecided on a winner for this one, but predict a close match either way.

Navy Midshipmen

Navy are coming off 42-28 win over the Memphis Tigers. The game was an impressive one for the Midshipmen’s offense as quarterback Will Worth, proved his worth. The senior ran circles around the Tigers’’ defense with 202 rushing yards and 3 touchdown passes. The Mids were outstanding on offense and gained 532 yards but they also conceded 431 yards to the Tigers. The win was Navy’s 14th consecutive home win and it meant that they were now top of the AAC’’s western division. They will be hoping to keep their streak going against the Bulls.

South Florida Bulls

The Bulls are 6-2 this season after their 46-20 loss to the Temple Owls. Their loss to the Owls was significant for other reasons – it ended their streak for multiple records. Prior to the game, they were leading the nation with scoring 35+ points in 11 consecutive games, scoring 200+ rushing yards in 12 consecutive games and 440+ yards in 11 games. All of this was ended as they managed only 352 offensive yards and 165 rushing yards against the Owls. QB Quinton Flowers completed only 11 of 19 passes for a meager 187 yards at 2 touchdowns. Their defense was abysmal and allowed 528 yards.

Overall, both teams are playing on an average level, and those who bet of college football are expecting a close match up but are unable to pick a side to win.
