Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers Matchup Preview
The San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5 of the NFL. Both teams have had dismal starts to the season and are their current records are 1-3. NFL betting experts are predicting that the 49ers have a slight advantage over the Cardinals for this game. .
The Cardinals have lost 3 out of 4 games this season and any hopes of making it to the Super Bowl are now hanging by a thread. Their latest defeat to the Los Angeles Rams also saw quarterback, Carson Palmer, suffer a concussion and withdraw from the game in the 4th quarter. He will most likely not be available for Thursday's game although coach Bruce Arians remains hopeful. Backup Drew Stanton is set to start his first game since 2014 but Cardinals' fans do not have high hopes. He managed to complete a meager 4 out of 11 attempted passes and was intercepted twice in the quarter that he played.
The 49ers are also coming off a 3 game losing streak and suffered their latest loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams. They also have quarterback problems as their first choice, Blaine Gabbert, is currently under performing. He has a current passing rate of only 73.1 and ranks 30th out of 32 quarterbacks in the league. Their defense has also been below par and they have conceded 562 rushing yards (the most in the NFL). Offshore sportsbooks are expecting the game to be a low-scoring one with the 49ers edging it.
