York Giants travel to Minnesota Vikings: MatchUp Preview
Monday night, the New York Giants travel to Minnesota to take on the undefeated Vikings. When the game concludes, a quarter of the NFL regular season will already be in the books. The Vikings are a 5- point favorite and the over/ under is 43 points. The Vikings are also undefeated, 3-0, against the spread this year. They are -210 with the money line, and the Giants are +180. New York is 2-1, and all of their games have been decided by a very close margin. They beat Dallas by one point, New Orleans by 3, and they lost to Washington by 2. Both teams are averaging about 21 points per game, but Minnesota’s defense has been tough this year, as was expected, as they are only giving up just over 13 points per game, while New York is giving up slightly more than 20. As the underdog, the Giants covered the spread as well as when they were the road team, so I think they will also cover this spread as they are getting 5 points, but I still think Minnesota wins the game outright.
They already beat the Packers and Panthers, two NFC powerhouse playoff bound teams more than likely, and now they get to come home against a Giants team who they beat last year 49-17, not to mention their defense is now much improved since that game. But the Giants will be looking for revenge after losing their first game of the season last week. It definitely won’t be a blowout like last year’s game. I think the Giants have a shot at an upset, it just will depend on which Eli shows up on Monday night.
