Thursday Night NFL Football 12-10-2015

Arizona Cardinals (10W-2L) and Minnesota Vikings (8W-4L)

This Thursday there’s a big NFL matchup between the 10-2 Arizona Cardinals and the 8-4 Minnesota Vikings. The game will be held in Arizona, and the Cards are currently an 8 point favorite. The over/under is 46 points.  Both teams are allowing 19.3 points per game, but Arizona is scoring an average of 31.8 points per game, while the Vikings are only scoring 19.8 ppg. The ESPN Football Power Index has AZ winning this game with an 82.2% chance. Minnesota is doing pretty well against the spread this year. They are 9-3 overall, 4-1 as the dog and 5-1 away. AZ is 7-5 overall, 6-5 as the favorite and 2-3 as the home team against the spread this season.

With 4 games left in the regular season, AZ has a nice 3 game cushion on 2nd place Seattle in the NFC West. Minnesota is tied with Green Bay for first in the NFC North record-wise, but GB holds the tie-breaker, so this is a big game for both teams. A win would pretty much give the Cards the division, and a Viking’s win would keep them even with the Pack, or push them ahead depending on how GB fares against the Cowboys; they should win that one. I think AZ wins the game, but I think the Vikings hang around and with the 8 points, will cover the spread. I also see this one going over 46 points.  Kickoff is at 5:25 PM PST, and it will be a warm one at about 78 degrees.
