ESPN Football Power Index gives this one to Clemson

Top sportsbooks for college football betting

The College Football Poll is out, and the Clemson Tigers lead the way as they are #1 in the nation. They are followed by LSU, Ohio State, and – despite having a loss- Alabama. Alabama, who is ranked 7th in the AP poll, jumped over some unbeaten teams like Baylor, TCU, and Michigan State. At No. 16 is Florida State, which joins Clemson as the only ACC teams in the CFP rankings.

The two will meet Saturday, with the Tigers looking to wrap up an Atlantic Division title with a victory. Clemson is a big 12.5 point favorite in that game, and the over/under is 55.5 points. Clemson is -470, and FSU is +375 with the money line. Against the spread, both teams haven’t fared as well. FSU is 4-4 overall, and 1-2 away.

Clemson is 5-3 overall, 5-3 as the favorite, and 2-1 at home. Clemson will be at home, and will be pumped up as they get their first chance to play as the top ranked team.

I think they will easily win this game, but FSU is still a really good ranked team, and I don’t see them rolling over, so I think taking them getting 12.5 points is a safe bet. Clemson scores a lot, over 40 points a game, while FSU gives up less than 17 points per game. Clemson has a 73.2% chance to win this game according to the ESPN Football Power Index, and as I’ve said I believe they will, just not by 12.5 points.
