Indianapolis Colts vs Carolina Panthers

Bet on Football at top offshore sportsbooks

The Indianapolis Colts travel to Carolina on Monday night to take on the undefeated Panthers. The Panthers are off to the best start in their franchise history, while the Colts are just looking to get back to their winning ways. The Panthers are a 7.5 point favorite, and the over/under is at 47 points.

The Panthers are -245 with the money line, while the Colts are +290.  Let's face it, the Panthers are having a great season so far, but likely will not go undefeated. This game might be their first loss. The ESPN Football Power Index has the Panthers at a 56.5% of winning, which is pretty close to 50/50. Carolina has no injuries to report so far, while Indianapolis has WR Phillip Dorsett out, and SS Mike Adams is listed as questionable. Against the spread, the Colts are 2-5, and Carolina is an impressive 5-1.

The Colts are 2-0 as the underdog so even if they do not win this game straight out, which I think they have a chance to do, I believe they will cover the spread. The Panthers are 4-1 against the spread as the favorite team. And Against the spread, the Colts are 1-2 as the away team, while the Panthers are 2-1 as the home team. The Panthers have rushed the ball 197 times this season, which makes them the 8th team to rush the ball a minimum of 195 times while still starting 6-0.

This is under the current playoff structure going back to 1990 and 6 of the past 7 of those teams have went on to the Super Bowl. I'm still not sold on them yet, but this game may change my mind.  Kickoff is at 5:30 PT, and there is a chance of rain in the forecast.
