Eagles Host Giants in Monday Night Football Matchup

The Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants this Monday night. The Eagles are currently a 5-point favorite, and the over/under sits at 49.5 points. If you take the money line, the Eagles are -240 while the Giants are +200 to win straight up. So far this year against the spread, the Eagles are 1-3 as the favorite, and 1-1 as the home team. The Giants are 2-0 as the underdog, as well as 2-0 as the road team against the spread this year.  There is a 71.4% chance the Eagles win this game according to the ESPN football power index.

The Giants are the hot team, however. After losing the first two games of the season, they have bounced back to win three in a row.  Philly QB Sam Bradford already threw six interceptions this year; that’s only two less than the number of TD’s he’s tossed. Meanwhile, Giants QB Eli Manning has 10 TD’s versus only two interceptions.  Through 5 games, these teams already played 3 common teams.

Both teams lost to the Cowboys, the Giants losing on the road while the Eagles lost at home. Both teams lost to the Falcons, the Giants losing to them at home while the Eagles lost to them on the road.

The Giants beat Washington at home while Philadelphia lost to Washington on the road. I look for this to be a high scoring game. I think it will go over the 49.5 point spread, and I think the Giants continue their mini winning streak and win the game straight up.
