Spartans Hunt Down Wolverines in Ann Arbor

NCAA College Football Saturday, 10/17/2015

There are plenty of rivalry games happening Saturday in college football, but probably none bigger than the Michigan State Spartans taking on the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor, MI. This rivalry dates all the way back to 1898, and has included 107 meetings in those 117 years.  Both teams are 2-0 in the Big Ten so far. The Spartans are undefeated at 6-0 coming in ranked 7th, while the Wolverines are an impressive 5-1 this season; they are ranked 12th. Despite being undefeated, and despite winning the last two games against the Wolverines, the Spartans enter the game as an 8.5 point underdog.

The over/under is currently at 40.5, and the contest is scheduled to start at 3:30 P.M. ET.  I think because Michigan State are underdogs despite being undefeated, that will make them feel disrespected, and should in turn lead to them playing a strong game and coming out on top. I would definitely take the Spartans getting the 8.5 points, and I would even take them winning straight up.

Either way, this game will certainly be a huge test for Michigan’s first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh. There are lots of good match-ups this weekend with all the rivalries and ranked teams going at it, but to me, this is the must see game. If you like old-fashioned football with lots of physical big hits, then this is the game you won’t want to miss seeing from kickoff to finish.
