The Golden State Warriors have a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Houston Rockets. Had they been playing the Los Angeles Clippers, I think the series would probably be tied at 1-1 right now, but he Rockets came back from a 1-3 hole and won 3 straight to take that series in 7. So here we are, with the series shifting back to Houston, where the Rockets pretty much must win to stay alive in this series.
If they lose, it would be near impossible to come back and win 4 straight games. Even if they do win, they would still be down 1-2 and have a big hole to climb out of. "We're not going to go anywhere," Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. "We're just going to keep standing here and swinging." A couple side notes on the series: The Rockets are 0-6 against the Warriors this season. Houston hasn't won at Golden State since Dec. 13, 2013. The Warriors are 45-3 at home this season, including 6-1 in the playoffs. Golden State is 54-0 when leading by at least 15 points at any point in a game this season.
The one advantage Houston will have in game 3 is home-court. I see a Golden State- Cleveland Finals on the near horizon. Golden State is still the favorite at ¼ odds. Cleveland is next at 23/10, or about 2.3 to 1. I think for the odds, I would take Cleveland at this point. They are almost guaranteed to make the finals, and when they do, the odds will probably drop a little, so if you are going to bet on them, I would do it now before they actually make the finals to get a little more bang for your buck.
